At the park.

I've always loved nature photography. It has its own, entire world of beauty, all which is seen through the camera lens. It is mysterious and enchanting. And the best part about it, is that one never runs out of things to photograph. 
Because nature is all around us.

Last week, during the first days of spring break, we went to the park. I love it when we go there. It's the kind of place where I like going for long walks through the surrounding trees. There is a special rock road for people to walk on, but I always step away from it. I go in all different directions, and walk on top of the fresh, green grass and crackling leaves. I wait to see what kind of things cross my way. And getting my shoes dirty is always part of the adventure.

And I not always keep my eyes on the ground. I look up too. What do I find? Light filtering through the trees, like millions of magic stars. It's Bokeh heaven. 

Along with hints of purple and orange, spring brought green back. Everything is colorful again.

Bubbly.

Ever since I can remember, the sight of bubbles floating around and filling the air is something I've always loved. I was amazed at how by just the littlest blow, twinkling bubbles would be created. I love the cherishing colors that swirl and dance inside those spheres made up of soap and water. And while the wind carries them and they fly around, they sparkle beauty. They create the most beautiful magic.

 And pictures.

And if you watch closely, you can see the entire world reflected on them.

drops of grace.

I'm breathing. I'm alive. I'm living my life which was given by the Creator of heaven and earth. Thinking about how He brought me into this world makes the light inside me turn on, and realize: "I'm thankful." How many times do we stop for a minute, and think about how thankful we are? Sometimes days go by, days which are filled with gifts and treasures, so many which seem to be endless. And while we are lying on our beds at night, we close our eyes and sleep without spending a single moment to thank God for all those gifts. Sometimes we don't remember the importance of being grateful. And we should.

His gifts are endless. Like little drops of grace. 

Today, I'm thankful. I'm thankful for spring, for the new birth of flowers and chirping birds. 

I'm thankful for the sunny mornings, the green grass, and the soft, calm whispers of the wind. 

 I'm thankful for my sister, who whether it's spring, summer or winter, always makes me smile.

I'm thankful for the sweet and fresh taste of grapefruit, which makes each breakfast special. 

I'm thankful for books. Those books which teach us things, and those with magical stories.

Green is my favorite color.

Now that the weather has gotten warmer, and the green grass has emerged into life, it seems to be the perfect time to run outside with my little sister and take some photos. A few days ago, she came to me to tell me that she had decided she wanted a "green photo shoot." I pulled out a lollipop and a long piece of green ribbon to include in our photos.
It definitely added a nice touch.

I love her. She is always so happy, always so beautiful.

And I love her sparkly brown eyes, it's like I can see everything about her through them. 

This is her favorite. Might as well be mine. :)

Does she not make you want to run back to those days when we were little? 

I always get that feeling.

Macro Monday

How about pulling out a colorful box of watercolors on a rainy day? Perfect. It is one of those days when I feel inspired to be creative, maybe sketch or paint. So many ideas come to mind while the rain and wind dance around the house and and knock lightly on the glass windows.

Project 64 [Spring green]

A couple of days ago, I took some photos of my little sis, and we both got creative with a green round lollipop and a piece of ribbon to tie on her hair. They turned out nicely, and I will be uploading the entire set sometime this week, so stay tuned :)

Morning at the market

A few days ago our grandpa took me and my siblings out to have breakfast near a really pretty market. Then, we walked around the fruit and flower market for about an hour. It was just wonderful! So many things to look at and photograph as well. This will be a very. long. post. Get ready for many, many photos.

How about a big cup of hot chocolate in the morning? I love this stuff. It's so rich, and tasty.

After breakfast, we started the long walk around the market. Lots of things to photograph!

I saw these amazing, dry tree branches. I loved how this picture turned out, and I barely had enough time to point, focus and shoot it since my grandpa and siblings were already a couple feet in front of me...

These handmade baskets are very common here in Mexico. We actually own some.

Anyway, done with the black and white! Off to all the color...

It is amazing how many flowers this market has. All kinds, pretty much. 

This next picture might make you feel dizzy... Don't look at it for too long :)

Sorry about that. But I got excited experimenting with my camera lens... (It is not photoshopped or anything.) I thought this effect would work great with the flowers, and it did! But it makes my head spin... Just a little.

They had some beautiful birds too! Couldn't resist. And I love how its feathers match the cage.

Jamaica flowers. I think in the USA they are known as Hibiscus? I am not so sure, but they are delicious. Mix them with some hot water and sugar, and you get one of the most delicious drinks! It is traditional in Mexico. Everybody has it, probably like four times a week. It's great.

Bright green and red, spicy hot peppers. And by hot and spicy, I really mean hot and spicy.

I loved these price tags. 

 These lemons were so unbelievably green and big. I love lemons... sometimes. But you are probably thinking, "Why is Annie calling them lemons? They are limes." In Mexico, we call the limes from the USA lemons, and the lemons limes. I have no idea why, but that's just the way it is- funny, right? :)

These looked delicious too. And don't worry, we do call these ones oranges.

I posted many pictures in this post... but I think it was worth it.
